In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll work as a part of our Family and Child Connect team in Mt Isa to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. The Family Support Worker plays an important role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children. You’ll be contributing to our commitment to children in Australia, the Pacific and around the world.
You will make a difference by:
- Building family capacity by using partnership, outcomes based, strengths’ perspective and client-centred approaches
- Identifying where additional assistance and external services are required, providing appropriate information, support and referrals
- Collaborating with team members to deliver programs and support services, promoting positive and culturally respectful approaches to parenting, and child and family wellbeing
- Providing holistic case management, delivering support to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients and supporting relationships for favourable client outcomes
- Identifying strengths, establishing goals for the program and reviewing client progress towards these

Bringing your best every day, means having:
- Experience working with individuals from culturally diverse communities, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
- A qualification in Community Services or related discipline – desired but not required
- Knowledge and understanding of the stresses on vulnerable families and the range of family risk and protective factors which impact on child outcomes
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Current drivers’ licence
