Our Step One Early Intervention program is a family-centered, community-based program that works in partnership with families to understand and meet the individual needs of children. Step One supports the relationship between young children and their families. We provide educational and therapeutic services to children from birth to three years with special needs and provide support and education to their familiesThe Music Therapist provides assessment, consultation, and home-based therapy services.  

 

 

Our interdisciplinary team of professionals provides: 

•Developmental assessments 
•Home-based services to young children and their families 
•Consultative services to staff of other disciplines and families 
•Developmental, therapeutic group services for infants, toddlers, and families 
•Consultation and collaboration with other community and medical providers such as childcare professionals and pediatricians

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in expressive therapy with a focus on music from an accredited recognized educational institution in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a Related Field and “license eligible” for LMFT or LMHC with official written verification by the applicant’s accredited educational institution.
  • Music Therapy Board Certification, required
  • Current valid driver's license required and reliable transportation and travel to various sites in Milton, Quincy, and Randolph.
  • Eligible for DPH Provisional Certification as an Early Intervention Specialist or DPH Certification as an Early Intervention Specialist.
  • Prior experience working with children ages birth to three and families preferred
  • Must have good time management and organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate willingness to grow and learn
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, maintain flexibility and function autonomously.
