Our Step One Early Intervention program is a family centered, community-based program that works in partnership with families to understand and meet the individual needs of children. Step One supports the relationship between young children and their families. We provide educational and therapeutic services to children from birth to three years with special needs and provide support and education to their families.

 

The Program Administrative Assistant has the responsibility for... 

  • Accurate data Entry of evaluation and IFSP data into TBR, including verification that TBR information accurately uploads into the DPH Client System 

  • Processing of intake packets, including mailing releases for medical records 

  • Processing of initial, including notification of referral sources and pediatrician 

  • Processing of annual, 6 month review, and exit evaluation packets, including mailing of releases and information to pediatrician 

  • Filing completed packets in the medical record 

  • Filing progress notes and other information in medical records 

  • Ensure the office is neat and organized 

  • Answer the phone and taking referrals from parents and other sources

  • Work as part of the administrative team, providing back up for tasks as needed. 

  • Performs other duties/projects as assigned by program director or clinical director

Required Skills

  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn systems
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to successfully work as part of a team
  • Ability to gain a solid understanding of Step One's mission and services

Required Experience

  • One to two years office experience with demonstrated effective communication skills and proven organizational and interpersonal skills preferred
  • Medical office experience preferred
