Position Overview
Under direction of the Building and Construction Trades supervision performs mechanical maintenance on all heavy-duty mobile equipment, along with welding required for maintenance of equipment. Equipment includes, but not limited to, cranes, shears, dozers, diesel units, and others. When not performing routine mechanical maintenance or welding work, other duties incidental to the work may be assigned by supervision. Duties also include repairs to motor vehicles and repairs to any part of equipment including engines, automatic transmissions, bodies and frames, air conditioning and other general repairs as required. Must be able to follow standard procedures and follow manufacturer’s specifications. All employees hired by the Contractor into the Building and Construction Trades, shall as a condition of employment, become and remain members in good standing of the appropriate Union after the 7th day following the beginning of such employment as allowed by applicable law and follow the Project Labor Agreement (PLA) negotiated between the Contractor and the Tri-State Building Trades Unions.

Prospective employees must be available to start work with Southern Ohio Cleanup Company LLC (SOCCo) within a reasonable time frame after acceptance of SOCCo’s offer of employment (typically 30 days or less).
Wage rates and fringe benefits will be consistent with the prevailing wages and fringe benefits for the particular craft in the project area.

Required Experience
Minimum Qualification Requirements / Working Conditions:
· Experience in welding and maintenance of both heavy and light equipment including gasoline and diesel engines, including welding and hard facing.
- OSHA-10 required, HAZWOPER-40 preferred, required after onboarding
· Experience to include Automatic and Diesel Transmission Repair.
· Must have a strong background in automotive electronics, troubleshooting and repair.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands, not limited to spending most working time standing (50%), walking (15%), climbing, crawling, crouching, sitting, kneeling, pulling, reaching, raising both arms above shoulder, bending, pushing, seeing-color vision, stooping, full use of both hands, normal hearing, lift up to 50#.
- Must be able to work in a wet or dry/dusty/hot/cold/humid/noisy environment including sudden temperature change, mechanical hazards, moving objects, Alkali (dust, soap), vibrations, oil/greases, acids/solvents/fumes/gases-vapors (Diesel and Gas fumes), and subject to exposure to all types of weather.
- Must be able to wear Company provided respiratory and other personal protective equipment when required.
- Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving history
- Must be able to operate both standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
- May require a Commercial Drivers’ License with all necessary endorsements.
- Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED
