Contingency of Employment:

Position Overview

Under limited supervision, performs Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) job functions as assigned by
management. Typical job responsibilities requirements are to provide assistance and support to NDA
management in ensuring proper completion and documentation of assigned NDA measurements and
reporting or analysis in accordance with all applicable requirements. The specific work assignment may
include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional
areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
§ Plans, schedules and organizes the work to ensure utilization of employees and compliance with all
contract requirements, Quality System for Non-Destructive Assay (QSNDA) quality standards and
budgetary guidelines
§ Ensures staffing levels of supervised personnel are maintained in a manner which allows the effective
execution of the assigned scope of work at all times
§ Instructs employees on the work methods and performance expectations
§ Provides leadership and motivation to subordinate personnel
§ Interface with groups inside and outside the organization, senior management, and auditors
§ May be assigned special projects
§ Responsible for providing direction, training and evaluation of NDA personnel
§ Assists with the development or review/update of various plans, policies or procedures as needed
§ Assist with maintaining positive employee relations
§ Responsible for group supervision and administration
§ May provide presentations to project senior management
§ Assist with the development and execution of training and qualification programs
§ Assist in the preparation and implementing of approved NDA program, methods, and operations
§ Must be capable of understanding and performing NDA methods and processes
§ May assist with budgetary responsibilities
§ Perform duties complex in nature
§ Other job related duties as assigned
§ Maintains knowledge, attends continuing training, and demonstrates the ability to perform work safely
in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs
assigned duties in a safe manner.
§ If supervising others, has responsibility for the safety of those being supervised and ensures they
comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits
§ Actively participates in Safety Work Groups

Working Conditions

Work in an office at a normal D&D environment (outdated and/or abandoned facilities with heavy industrial field equipment). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to heavy industrial equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 50 pounds requires usage of a two person “buddy system”), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.
Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.
Radiological training will be required.

Ability to complete site specific training to gain knowledge of site nuclear facility operations and NDA Qualification Card

Knowledge of and experience with NDA measurement equipment, methods, cascade set up and nuclear facility operations

Knowledge of and experience with DOE Safety Basis including technical safety requirements, processes and reporting requirements.

Required Experience

Minimum Requirements

Non-Destructive Assay Supervisor I

BS degree with emphasis in Physical Science (or equivalent)
With BS degree, 3 years of job related experience is required. Without BS degree, an equivalent
combination of education and experience as defined by DOE O 426.2 is required.

Non-Destructive Assay Supervisor II

BS degree with emphasis in Physical Science (or equivalent)
With BS degree, 7 years of job related experience is required. Without BS, an equivalent combination of
education and experience as defined by DOE O 426.2 is required.
