USW Truck Driver
PER SOCCo Policy DND-HR-PRO-00001: Internal employees must be in current position for (1) year or greater to be eligible to apply.
THIS POSITION WILL BE REPRESENTED AS PART OF A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT UNIT.
Position Overview
Works under direct supervision and is responsible for safe and economical operation of all vehicles including heavy trucks, tractor-trailer, busses, cars, vans, etc. Operates heavy mobile equipment occasionally as required. Responsible for safe and economical operation of equipment and for safety of passengers and cargo/property to all areas of the plant or elsewhere required. Operates heavy equipment for transport purposes and light vehicles as needed. Some heavy lifting may be required. Must have good judgment for road conditions and secure/report all pertinent information associated with any accident. Makes minor checks and reports when maintenance is needed. Performs other duties incidental to the work as may be assigned by supervision.
Required Contingencies:
· Pre-Employment Physical (office or field work)
· Drug Screen
· The ability to obtain/maintain "L" or "Q" Clearance one year from hire date
· Background Check
· Any site required training

Required Skills
- Must be able to spend most working time sitting (75%), but not limited to standing (10%), walking (15%), carrying, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, raising both arms above shoulder, bending, pushing, seeing-color vision, stooping, twisting, seeing-depth perception, full use of both hands, normal hearing, lift up to 45#, have the ability to handle heavy equipment, ability to make judgments on road/highway conditions and obey traffic rules and regulations.
- Must be able to work in a cold/dry/dusty/hot/humid/noisy environment including sudden temperature change, mechanical hazards (highway travel), moving objects, Alkali (dust, soap), vibrations, oil/greases, acids/solvents/gases and subject to exposure to all types of weather.
- Must be able to wear Company provided respiratory and other personal protective equipment when required.
Required Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Five years general driving experience including two (2) years on heavy truck and semi-trailer
- Ohio State Commercial Drivers License with all necessary endorsements required.
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must be able to operate both standard and automatic transmission vehicles
- Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED
