POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager position will be responsible for production of financial statements and providing reliable financial data necessary for operational decisions. This position is also responsible for managing accounting and administrative employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and all supporting documentation for month end.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor of cash weekly.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and reconcile to the accounting system.
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Monitor debt and ensure entries are posted correctly.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget.
  • Assist with calculating billing rates and job cost labor rates.
  • Collect and provide information for retirement plan audit if needed and Form 5500 filings for both retirement plan and insurance benefits.
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements.
  • Provide information for required governmental surveys as requested.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects.
  • Provide information for and/or review of year-end 1099s.
  • Provide information for annual insurance renewals and insurance audits, including but not limited to health and ancillary benefits, workers comp, and travel.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand job cost accounting and financial reporting.
  • Document procedures, problems/solutions, descriptions, status updates, etc.
  • Train co-workers on improved procedures.
  • Promote a positive working environment to achieve the organization's goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
  • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work per established safety and company requirements.
  • Communicate with and effectively interact with co-workers, management, clients, and others courteously and professionally.
  • Abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Abide by all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • This position will alternate between the Louisville and Greeley facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in an office atmosphere.  Exposure to harsh conditions—such as dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures is possible for short periods.  All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential function of this job successfully.   While performing this position's duties, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.  The ability to lift and carry 10 lbs. regularly is required. 

 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science in accounting or business is required.
  • 3-5 years of corporate accounting experience is preferred.
  • Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance.
  • Must have a positive attitude and cooperate well.
  • Must be trustworthy and able to maintain confidential information.
  • Must be responsible and reliable.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication; both oral and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and planning.
  • Effective time management.
  • Requires a strong ability to multi-task and flexibility to learn and accept other duties.
  • Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • Strong math skills and confidence when working with numbers.
  • Excellent computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs with strong Excel skills.
  • Prior experience with Viewpoint Construction Software (Vista) is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Infrequent travel is required up to 10%.
