Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist, an exempt position, will support both manufacturing and professional services at our Hollister, CA location. This role is responsible for key HR functions including employee relations, performance management, training, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment law compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer human resource plans and procedures for all employees. Assist with policy development and implementation.
- Interpret and provide guidance on company policies and relevant federal and state regulations.
- Manage recruitment efforts for exempt, non-exempt, intern, and temporary positions.
- Conduct interviews, background checks, reference checks, and new hire orientations.
- Manage the offer letter process, including the preparation, presentation, and communication of offers and compensation details.
- Handle complex employee relations issues, including offering counseling services and conducting investigations.
- Create and update job descriptions and support career development programs.
- Support performance review processes to ensure alignment with internal compensation programs and policies.
- Conduct employee exit interviews.
- Assist in analyzing departmental reports, decisions, and outcomes to ensure alignment with established goals and objectives.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and generate HR reports using the UKG system.
- Develop and deliver in-house training programs related to HR and safety
- Maintain working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices (Title VII, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, USERRA, etc.).
- Support benefits administration and assist with employee benefit communications.
- Provide ongoing support to the HR Manager - Operations.
- Suggest new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department and its services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
- Promote a positive work environment and follow company safety standards and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office setting and occasionally in uncontrolled environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures. Adherence to safety standards and PPE requirements is mandatory.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to walk, stand, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. regularly is required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years in a Human Resources Generalist role required.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) required.
- SHRM-CP or CPHR certification strongly preferred.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or construction environments strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of California employment law required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and general computer proficiency required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset and ability to work independently.

The approximate pay range for this position is $77,000 - $96,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
