POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, this position will be operating various equipment to support the fabrication departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely set up and operate various equipment, including, but not limited to brake press, shear, CNC plasma cutting table, punch press, and metal saw. Includes new equipment such as the laser table.
- Perform parts processing operating within a .030 degree tolerance for measuring and cutting.
- Continually work to refine processes to improve quality and reduce cycle times.
- Prepare parts using combination squares, tape measure, levels, rulers, etc.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with tape measures, templates, gauges, and protractors to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting and cleaning of equipment as prescribed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
- Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements, including required PPE.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Material handling duties and minor general maintenance.
- Exceptional attendance.
- Responsible for area housekeeping.
- Participate in the processes of continuous improvement.
- Able to effectively perform similar position on the floor at any point in time.
- Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
- Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this role. Employees are expected to adhere to scheduled work hours and promptly report any necessary absences in accordance with company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required. Must be able to stand and walk 95% of the time and sit 5% of the time.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Manufacturing or industrial experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience operating various equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read blue prints is preferred.
- Tool requirements per list are required.
- Basic math skills and problem-solving skills are required.
- Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
- Ability to operate a forklift strongly preferred; previous experience a plus.
- Ability to operate boom lift and scissor lift desired.
- Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.
- Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.

The approximate pay range for this position is $22.50 - $25.42/hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
