Pressure Testing Technician: $23 - $27 starting pay based on skill and experience level of applicant.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Pipe Shop Team Leader, the Pressure Testing Technician will test tanks, fittings, pipes, and similar objects to detect and locate leaks using compressed air or water pressure: installs fittings on object to seal outlets and connects object to high pressure air or water line using hand tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Test required components utilizing the appropriate valves and processes per drawing specifications in accordance with testing procedure.

Observes gauge for loss of pressure indicative of leaks, and examines object for escaping air or water to detect leaks.

Marks object at source of leak for subsequent repair.

May apply soap solution to surface of object or immerse object to facilitate location of air leaks.

May test object under high pressure to ensure compliance with product safety ratings.

Record testing data on ISO’s or other provided documents.

Maintain all gauges, charts and other related equipment to ensure proper calibration.

Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools as required.

Safely operate forklift and overhead crane.

Regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.

Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide personal tools according to the department tool list.

Perform set-up, material handling duties, and minor general maintenance.

Responsible for area housekeeping.

Participate in the processes of continuous improvement including efforts to meet company smart goals.

Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures. Potential exposure to jobsites both domestically and internationally; living accommodations in some foreign assignments may not meet expected U.S. standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the time and sit 10% of the time.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools is required.

Ability to learn to read blue prints, ISO’s and other technical documents is required.

Experience operating forklift and overhead crane preferred.

Must be detail oriented.

At least (1) year of manufacturing or industrial experience is strongly preferred.

Basic math skills and problem solving skills are required.

High level of energy and motivation.

Ability to work flexible hours including, but not limited to, frequent and mandatory overtime, and weekends are required.

Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.
