Position Summary:
The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with company objectives. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to manage project teams, budgets, schedules, and quality control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily on-site meetings to provide subcontractors with clear project expectations and progress updates.
  • Set daily goals and deadlines for all project activities to maintain schedule adherence.
  • Develop and execute work plans tailored to specific project requirements, effectively utilizing resources and personnel.
  • Communicate project plans to staff, assigning responsibilities and ensuring alignment with objectives.
  • Oversee project workflows to maintain consistency with the established schedule.
  • Manage construction budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
  • Support the Project Manager with cost forecasting and financial projections related to construction scope.
  • Oversee the punch list and closeout process, ensuring successful Functional Installation Check-out acceptance.
  • Track and adjust project plans in response to changes or unforeseen challenges.
  • Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders, ensuring project status and adjustments are clearly conveyed.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 50-60% of the time.
  • Foster strong relationships with employees across all locations.
  • Uphold and enforce company safety policies, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Take full responsibility for site cost management, schedule adherence, safety oversight, productivity, and scope execution.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the on-site leader, ensuring all team members adhere to Roeslein’s quality and safety standards.
  • Oversee contractor installation methods to maintain project quality and safety compliance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining professional and timely communication.
  • Review subcontractor bid documents and change requests against contracted scopes of work.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including contractor change orders, bid results, agreements, daily reports, schedules, change requests, field directives, punch lists, and installation check-out records.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that supports company goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
This role operates in both office and construction site environments. Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather conditions may occur for short periods. Employees must follow safety protocols and wear designated personal protective equipment in required areas.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent walking, standing, gripping, handling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 7+ years of experience in a construction environment, preferably in large steel assembly, refineries, or PSM-covered processes.
  • Proficiency in basic drafting skills and familiarity with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interpret engineers’ and designers’ notes and sketches for incorporation into design documents.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, clients, vendors, and business partners.
