Riverside Community Care is seeking a psychiatrist to take the role of Regional Medical Director, overseeing four of our outpatient programs.  This is an exciting leadership opportunity which will involve both administrative responsibilities, direct patient care, and working with a team to develop innovative treatment programming.  


The candidate should have experience in adult psychiatry, addiction medicine, and ideally child and adolescent psychiatry training.  Community psychiatry serves people of all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and diversity.  However, each of our patients share the same general goal: to rekindle their sense of value.  As the Regional Medical Director, you will have opportunities to lead a team of dedicated professionals in delivering this goal to those in need.
The Regional Medical Director will work with the leadership of Riverside Community Care to develop, design, and deliver integrated behavioral health care.  As the world of behavioral health continues to evolve, your input can be pivotal in bringing care and support to those in need.

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours with hybrid opportunities

  • On-site presence needed between 4 Outpatient locations: Cambridge, Lynnfield, Newton, and Somerville

Required Skills

  • Thorough and current knowledge of psychopharmacology and medication assisted treatment
  • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word products, electronic health records, etc.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing in language that can be readily understood by the majority of programs’ staff, funders and people served
  • Ability to effectively perform job responsibilities in fast paced, high stress environment
  • Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle

Required Experience

  • Current licensure and certification by the American Board of Psychiatry in Adult Psychiatry required. 
  • Current license and certification by the America Board of Psychiatry in and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of practice as a psychiatrist, post board certification required.
  • Current DEA licensure required.
  • Experience working with people with serious and persistent mental illness required and substance use challenges
  • Prior experience providing clinical supervision required.
