Maternal Child Health Nurse - Early Intervention
Maternal Child Health Nurse will work within Riverside Early Childhood Services for Cambridge and Somerville, which is home to three programs: Early Intervention, Early Intervention Parenting Partnership, and the Early Years Project.
All three programs share our guiding statement:
Riverside Early Childhood Services creates relationships, experiences, and environments which empower and promote positive development. We are committed to clinical excellence, collaboration, and the process of continual learning. We meet all people where they are, recognize and nurture strengths, and attend to challenges. As a staff we value our differences, flexibility, and autonomy, and show up for one another with kindness, support, and direct communication.
The Early Intervention Partnership Program (EIPP) is a home visiting program which provides support to people who are pregnant through the baby's first year of life. Eligibility factors include social determinants of health, poor previous birth outcomes, and difficult pregnancy for those who are pregnant or have a baby up to three months old who live in Cambridge or Somerville. The team consists of maternal child health nursing, mental health, social work and community health staff. We work with in person translators and/or use a language app as needed.
Our work is grounded in deep respect for program participants, with whom we form a collaborative partnership. We embody cultural humility to meet every family where they are, to understand and respect their perspectives, beliefs, values, and routines. We partner with families to identify their concerns and priorities as we support them through the pregnancy and postpartum period. Our goal is to maximize the potential for a healthy pregnancy, mental wellness, empowering birth experience, a healthy baby, secure attachment, and meeting developmental milestones, while connecting families to needed community resources.
Schedule: Part Time - 2 - 5 hours per week; Flexible hours
