Family Support and Training, also known as Family Partner

 

Exciting opportunity to join our innovative and growing children's mental health program as a Family Partner! We are seeking a compassionate and culturally sensitive professional who is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of others and thrives in a diverse and collaborative environment! The Family Partner works in partnership with Intensive Care Coordinators to provide education, coaching/training and support to parents/caregivers of a youth receiving Wraparound services from the Community Service agency. We are proud to be the only Community Service Agency in Massachusetts providing services through an enhanced Wraparound Model, MiiWrap.

 

Join us and work closely with our MiiWrap Coach and team to provide strengths-based, supportive services to youth and their families. Key responsibilities:

Family Engagement and Support:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with families, serving as a consistent point of contact and source of support throughout the treatment process.
  • Empower families to actively participate in the care planning and decision-making processes, ensuring their voices and preferences are valued and incorporated.

 

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other members of the CBHI team, including clinicians, care coordinators, and therapists.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among all involved parties to ensure seamless service delivery.

 

Advocacy and Education:

  • Provide families with information and resources about available services, treatment options, and community supports.
  • Serve as an advocate for families, helping them navigate complex systems and overcome barriers to accessing appropriate care.

 

Skill-Building and Coaching:

  • Utilize a strengths-based approach to teach parents and caregivers effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors and promoting positive family dynamics.
  • Collaborate with families to develop and enhance their coping skills and problem-solving abilities.

 

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interactions, progress, and interventions according to program guidelines.

 

Schedule: 40 hours per week; flexible hours between 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. to meet the needs of the families

 

Pay Rate: $22.28/hour

  • increase to $23.79 upon completion of CHW certification
  • additional $0.96 language differential available too!

Required Skills

  • Must be able to establish a rapport and work effectively with a diverse, multi-cultural group of parents, children, family members and other program staff members
  • Understanding of child development and family issues that impact upon child/parent relationships required
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
  • Must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
  • Bilingual Spanish / English preferred

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field and one year of experience working with the target population, Associate’s degree in human service field and one year experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth, or high school diploma/GED and a minimum of two years experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth required
  • Experience as a caregiver of a youth with mental health needs required
  • Must have experience in navigating any of the child and family-serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family-serving systems
