Manufacturing and Operations
The overall objective of the Switchgear Fabrication Assembler 3 position is to contribute to the manufacturing of our switchgear product lines by assembling fabricated sheet metal according to drawing specifications. Consistent and accurate modeling and representing of the Point Eight Power brand, mission, vision, values and organizational strategy are essential to achieving the
goals of the organization.
Ü Demonstrate an entry level of proficiency in executing workmanship in areas of fabrication and assembly of metal materials forming the enclosures for low to high voltage applications, per drawing packages and instructions defined by the Engineering Department.
Ü Interpret and apply entry level manufacturing knowledge and principles while reading specifications to make determinations on enclosure assembly methods, sequencing, and advising various team members or departments of errors to technical drawings as a means of proactive quality measures.
Ü Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized work area by complying with safety procedures, rules, quality standards and best practices to perform tasks optimally.
Ü Maintain operational excellence by completing necessary paperwork such as Engineering Corrective
Reports, Non-conformance Reports, Corrective Action Reports, and Material Transfer Requests.

Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include: tape measure, level, square and transit, welding machine, grander, sander, basic hand tools (hammers, clamps, etc.), fork lift, overhead crane, ironworker, cutting torch and bandsaw.
Verbal & Written Communication Skills: This position requires intermediate skills (Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.)
Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite.
Technical Experience: Ability to read and process drawings and cut-sheet packages. Proficient in measuring, squaring and math skills. Ability to MIG or Flux-core weld.
Math Skills: This position requires intermediate skills (calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.)
Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Arm-Hand Steadiness: The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
Visualization: The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
Blueprint Readability: This position requires the ability to interpret structural blueprints, drawings, client specifications and industry standards to identify the required types, sizes, ratings and quantities of the material to be included in the equipment offered.
Required Experience
1 year of experience in sheet metal fabrication or welding, preferred.
1 year of experience in heavy machine operation, such as a Forklift, Extending Boom Lifts, Man Lifts, etc.
1 year of relevant experience in industrial, commercial construction, or similar industries, preferred.
