Job Overview:
Electrical Now Outside Sales Representative is responsible for identifying and developing relationships with clients in the electrical industry for the Southeast Region. This region covers AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, MO, NC, SC, and TN states. This role focuses on selling electrical products, services, and solutions to contractors, businesses, and other relevant customers. The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge, sales expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Development
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory or industry.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and objectives by promoting the company's electrical products and services.
- Account Management
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers by providing exceptional service and addressing their needs.
- Develop tailored solutions to meet client requirements and enhance satisfaction.
- Product Expertise
- Stay up to date on electrical products, technologies, and industry trends.
- Educate customers on the features, benefits, and applications of the company's offerings.
- Strategic Planning
- Prepare and execute sales plans to achieve growth targets.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., purchasing, customer service, and technical support) to ensure seamless customer experiences.
- Market Research
- Conduct research to identify potential clients and market trends.
- Gather competitive intelligence to inform sales strategies.
- Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
- Provide regular reports to management on sales performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Business, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the electrical industry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical products, systems, and solutions (e.g., wiring, lighting, switchgear, and controls).
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to travel extensively within the sales territory and occasionally lift product samples or demonstration materials.
Preferred Qualities
- A strong network within the electrical industry.
- Experience working with contractors, distributors, or industrial customers.
- Technical knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
