JOB SUMMARY
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
AEAMC is a manufacturer in the electrical industry providing products and services that include circuit breakers, motor controls, switches, switchgear, panelboards, custom engineered solutions, and repair of related equipment.
The Solidworks CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Designer uses Solidworks software to create 3D part models and assemblies. The Designer also creates dimensioned drawings used for layout, approval and fabrication. Projects include working with existing physical samples and creating new designs. This role works closely with Sales staff to fulfill orders of engineered products and provide technical drawings and documents to customers. Other tasks include writing manuals and technical documents supporting engineered products. Work is performed at a desk with occasional walking to inspect or measure parts in the warehouse and shop areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create detailed 3D part models and assemblies in Solidworks.
- Create dimensioned drawings of parts and assemblies for layout, approval, and fabrication purposes.
- Provide part files, flat patterns, and communicate as necessary with vendors for fabrication of parts.
- Work with existing designs and files to provide updates and changes based on feedback or change requests.
- Maintain good organization of project files and existing digital assets.
- Perform checks and review project outputs to ensure product quality. AEAMC is ISO 9001 certified and follows ISO quality procedures.
- Develop a knowledge of AEAMC product lines and related design considerations.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in Solidworks CAD software, Solidworks sheet metal experience preferred but not required. Proficiency in other CAD programs will be considered.
- Ability to accurately measure physical objects using a variety of tools such as a tape measure, calipers, etc.
- Strong understanding of physical design principles. Understanding of design intent related to manufacturing processes such as machining preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and create dimensioned drawings for a variety of purposes.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Technical degree or Associate’s or higher degree in related field required.
- Solidworks or CAD design experience in related industries such as manufacturing is strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Professional certifications Solidworks or other CAD software may be advantageous but are not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. with a 1-hour lunch break.
