Job Summary:
Supervise, train, and assist field service technicians/ engineers while being responsible for all aspects of team’s field service work, including customer communication, sales, job estimating, scheduling, reports, and billing. Performs electrical apparatus construction work onsite at customer’s facilities. Responsible for troubleshooting, training, establishing LOTO, interacting with customers, report writing, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Management with developing training, career paths and succession planning for all team members.
Directly supervises teams of 4-6 field technicians.
Responsible for timely customer deliverables including project reports and billing information.
Direct and oversee electrical substation project installations.
Analyzes projects and identifies areas to improve efficiencies and profitability while still meeting customer expectations.
Plans and participates in safety meetings, training, and audits.
Supports management in the planning, scheduling, execution, and cost management of field projects as well as organizational goals and objectives.
Assigns project tasks and ensures that materials, tools, labor, and equipment are scheduled in a timely manner to meet project schedules.
Interacts with the customer to make sure project is on schedule and their needs are met.
Responsible for maintaining quality standards of Premier Power Maintenance.
Actively participates in hands on construction activity when it is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiar with industry standards such as NETA, NFPA 70E, OSHA compliance standards, safety laws, and DOT regulations.
Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems.
Extensive knowledge regarding the installation, configuration, and wiring of all types of electrical switchgear and equipment in all voltage classes.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret prints, diagrams, manuals, and schematics.
Must have intermediate PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet goals and deadlines.
Ability to work independently, while utilizing excellent judgement.
Has demonstrated the ability to be consistently on time for daily work assignments, meetings, training, etc.
Demonstrates organizational skills to include on time reporting of time and expenses, weekly status reports, and any other documentation and reporting requirements.
Ability to supervise projects and manage a project budget.
Demonstrates the responsibility required to keep tools, test equipment, and vehicles in clean and organized condition and up to date with service and calibrations.
Work Environment:
- Must be willing to relocate within 60 miles of Indianapolis, IN.
- Corporate business hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm, but depending on the scope of works hours outside of business hours will be required.
- Work in close, but safe, proximity to live electrical substations.
- Must be able to work overtime including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, stoop, climb, shovel, and work at elevated positions.
- Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.
- Must be willing and capable of working with hands and working in a heavy industrial environment.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 pounds.
Education and Work Experience:
- Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or Military experience is preferred but not required.
- Higher Education, Industry Certifications, or Substation/Lineman Apprenticeship is preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial electrical background is required.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in direct supervision in a field service industry.
- Project management experience and be able to support management in the planning, scheduling, execution, and cost management of field projects.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, education verification, motor vehicle report, physical abilities test, an approved hair and urine drug screen, as well as periodic, unannounced random testing.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and must have or be willing to obtain an endorsement to operate a combined vehicle weight up to 26k lbs. CDL license preferred.
- Must be willing to obtain a company paid TWIC, OSHA 10 hour, NFPA 70-E and, CPR training.
