JOB SUMMARY 
Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Responsible for repairing, upgrading, reconditioning, and re-manufacturing mechanical and electrical equipment from a single circuit breaker to a complete substation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Removes and reinstalls mechanical and electrical components on circuit breakers with documentation.
  • Cleans electrical parts.
  • Reads breaker evaluation and work order and performs the service the customer is requesting.
  • Disassembles circuit breakers.
  • Works safely on stored energy mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs circuit breakers.
  • Reads manuals and follows detailed instructions on adjusting equipment.
  • Reads schematic, point-to-point and one-line wiring diagrams.
  • Tests and troubleshoots electrical wiring.
  • Electrically operates a circuit breaker from wiring schematic (charge, close and trip)
  • Operates test equipment relevant to breaker type.
  • Takes electrical parts off of a breaker to recondition them (aux switch, motor, relay, coils)
  • Makes sure mechanical and electrical parts work properly before putting them on a breaker.
  • Supports onsite and emergency jobs when needed. 

May be modified from time to time. Other duties, tasks and work may be assigned

METRICS

Completes reconditioning of breakers in a timely manner based on experience.
Ensures work area remains tidy.
Maintains records of all work performed including images of initial breakers received and throughout the project.
Project and demand oriented as defined by the objectives set forth by operations manager and measured based on meeting objectives, completion on time, accuracy and neatness of work, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous mechanical experience REQUIRED, must have experience repairing or building small engines, cars, motors, pumps, etc.

·    Know your way around hand tools, and must provide your own tools.

• Ability to maintain good housekeeping of designated work area.

• Ability to use measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, tape measure, etc.)

• Ability to trouble shoot electrical circuits safely and make repairs.

• Ability to troubleshot mechanical and electrical problems and repair.

• Capable of lifting 50-pounts.

• Ability and willingness to read and study OEM manuals and technical literature. 

• Mechanically inclined, must have your own tools.

• Detail oriented, great attitude, team player, well organized.

• Some electrical knowledge helpful.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communications.
• Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner.
• Good time management skills; be able to multi-task
• Able to work at fast pace
• Work well in a team environment.
• Able to maintain confidential information.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

High school or equivalent GED certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

 Occasional reaching/working overhead, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling

• Frequent walking

 Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion

 Lifting requirements include occasional lifting up to 75 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 25 pounds.


WORK SCHEDULE

Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. You are required to be at your workstation from the start of your shift to the completion of your shift Monday thru Friday.
