Restaurant Supply Chain Solutions, LLC, a Yum! Brands Co-op is currently seeking a Senior Manager – Procurement to join the Bakery and Grains procurement team.
As a member of the Bakery and Grains team, the Senior Manager will be responsible for the procurement and ongoing category management for assigned categories (currently tortillas, chips, shells, flatbread, biscuits and rice). Key result areas include strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, supply and contingency planning, COGs forecasting, Restaurant Margin Improvement (RMI), commodity risk management, and culinary innovation and quality support. The Senior Manager will collaborate daily with various stakeholders across RSCS and all Yum! Brands concepts (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and Habit Burger & Grill) and A&W All American. Hybrid Schedule - 3 days in the office, 2 days remote
Essential Functions
• Strategic Sourcing
o Implements the RSCS Sourcing Process for assigned categories and items.
o Develop category profiles and segment category suppliers to support strategy development and supplier contract
negotiations.
o Conduct relevant spend analytics to support overall category sourcing and optimization objectives.
o Develop RFx packages, conduct supplier bid analyses, and works with the Senior Director to negotiate and make
award decisions.
o Create and assess total cost of ownership models to help analyze alternative, Best Alternative to Negotiating
o Implement and maintain SBRAs (supply agreements) for all suppliers.
o Develops and utilizes expertise in supplier/industry production processes to analyze supplier capabilities and
identify opportunities for RMI, product improvement and supply chain optimization.
• Supply and Contingency planning.
o Ensure uninterrupted supply of products, both base business and promotional items to Yum! Brands and A&W
restaurants by developing a strong and efficient supply chain for all assigned items.
o Develop and document supply contingency plans related to both short and long-term capacity needs.
o Develop supply contingency plans for potential supplier or industry-related disasters.
o Collaborate with program managers, product developers and quality managers to prepare suppliers for
promotional needs such as incremental production and new products.
• COGs Forecasting and Supplier Item Pricing
o Develops robust COGs models that accurately forecast key SKUs.
o Maintain and verify accuracy of Global Pricing System and other company software applications as it relates to
supplier and item setup, pricing, and freight.
• Commodity Risk Management (CRM)
o Knowledgeable of commodity markets, leads hedge strategy development and execution, and directs suppliers to
take positions on critical ingredients as needed to manage market risk and deliver COGs.
o Conduct cost analysis and COGs impact as needed resulting from various hedge strategies.
o Collaborate with CRM team on hedging programs for flour, corn, oil and cheese where applicable.
• Brand/Concept Support – innovation and quality
o Enable and facilitate new product and ingredient innovation by leveraging the resources of strategic
suppliers.
o Identify and recommend suppliers for new vendor selection and best product alternatives for new products.
o Support product development and quality assurance managers on innovation and commercialization of new
products.
o Participate as a member of, and lead when required, cross-functional project teams.
o Collaborate with quality assurance managers on specification changes, ingredient changes, and quality issues.
o Negotiate price, capacity, order minimums, and lead times for introduction of suppliers or new products.
• Supplier Relationship Management
o Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships ensuring RSCS/Yum! is a priority customer for industry
leading costs, supply assurance, and supplier resources.
o Perform annual supplier evaluation and scorecard process for STAR Awards
o Conduct annual supplier segmentation and summarize results.

Required education, experience, and skills
• Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Ag Economics, Engineering or related field. Master’s or
MBA preferred. ISM certification a plus.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in one or a combination of the following areas: food/ingredient/beverage
procurement, commodity merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering. Prefers 3-4 years of experience in
restaurant/QSR industry or related manufacturing.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Teams, Outlook, Word, Power BI. Advanced in Excel and PowerPoint.

• Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of the supply chain processes including manufacturing, logistics and distribution
• Development and execution of “consultant quality” presentations to senior level executives
• Strong financial acumen; knowledge of cost accounting, asset ROI and financial statements
• Travel required – less than 10%.
