What You'll Do
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate processing and recording of customer payments and invoices. This position is responsible for supporting daily cash receipt activities, maintaining customer account records, and assisting with a variety of accounting and administrative functions. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various accounting functions to ensure accurate recording of cash and financial transactions in accordance with company procedures.
- Process and post daily accounts receivable payments, including checks, credit cards, PayPal, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Prepare deposits and perform daily bank deposit runs.
- Reconcile cash receipts to general ledger postings.
- Print, post, and mail customer sales invoices.
- Record debit and credit adjustments to customer accounts.
- Process and post returned merchandise authorizations (RMAs), warranty credits, and refunds.
- Process and reconcile UPS freight claim payments.
- Process return credits and customer credit memos.
- Record customer account credits received from vendor payments.
- Issue customer refunds via credit card and PayPal.
- Respond to and resolve declined credit card transactions.
- Obtain certificates of insurance upon customer request.
- Post invoices and provide invoice copies as needed.
- Assist with general office functions, including scanning, filing, answering customer service calls, and processing documentation such as W-9 forms.
- Support additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills
- Prior experience using Microsoft Office applications and systems.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.

Education & Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent required.
- 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience required.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $23-26 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, education, skills, training, and work location.
