Overview

This is a hands on role that supports production by keeping parts, tools, supplies, and inventory moving accurately and safely. The Parts Technician helps ensure that technicians have the right parts at the right time while maintaining clean, organized, and reliable inventory records.

This role is a good fit for someone who is dependable, organized, comfortable using computer systems, and able to work well with both internal teams and outside vendors.

What you will do

Parts and inventory support

• Inspect parts, tools, and supplies for quality, wear, defects, or damage
• Report damaged or defective items to the supervisor
• Maintain inventory records through the computerized inventory system
• Create, receive, and process stock orders
• Maintain perpetual inventory and assist with physical inventory counts
• Prepare detailed inventory records, reports, and related documentation

Purchasing and vendor coordination

• Prepare required paperwork for purchases
• Issue purchase order numbers to vendors
• Request quotes from vendors for parts not under contract
• Verify vendor deliveries for accuracy
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams regarding part availability

Technician and production support

• Deliver parts needed for jobs to requesting technicians
• Return and log warranty parts
• Process core returns for vendors
• Help ensure required parts and components are available when needed

Safety and warehouse support

• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas
• Follow safety procedures and help keep work areas organized
• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, as needed

May be modified from time to time. Other duties, tasks, and work may be assigned.

What success looks like

• Parts are available when technicians need them
• Inventory records are accurate, organized, and kept up to date
• Vendor deliveries, warranty parts, and core returns are processed correctly
• Tools, parts, and storage areas are clean, safe, and easy to locate
• Internal and external customers receive clear, timely, and professional support

What we are looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Computer literacy required
• Willingness and ability to learn new computer programs
• Customer service experience preferred
• Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers in person and over the phone
• Proper phone etiquette and professional manners
• Strong attention to detail and follow through
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team

None required

Physical requirements

• Occasional reaching or working overhead
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Frequent walking
• Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
• Continuous lifting up to 15 pounds
