Overview
This is a hands on technical role focused on repairing, upgrading, reconditioning, and re manufacturing electrical equipment. Work ranges from individual circuit breakers to complete substation assemblies. You will follow evaluations and work orders, document your work, and ensure equipment is safe, functional, and ready for service.
What you will do
Electrical service and reconditioning
• Clean electrical parts and components
• Disassemble circuit breakers for inspection and service
• Remove and reinstall electrical components with proper documentation
• Review breaker evaluations and work orders, then complete the requested service
• Troubleshoot and repair circuit breakers and related electrical systems
• Work safely around stored energy mechanisms
Diagnostics and testing
• Read manuals and follow detailed adjustment instructions
• Read schematic, point to point, and one line wiring diagrams
• Test and troubleshoot electrical wiring
• Electrically operate breakers from wiring schematics including charge, close, and trip functions
• Operate test equipment relevant to breaker type to verify performance
• Recondition removed components such as auxiliary switches, motors, relays, and coils
• Verify electrical parts function properly before reinstallation
Field support
• Support onsite, after hours, and emergency jobs when needed
What success looks like
• Breakers and electrical equipment are repaired and reconditioned correctly the first time
• Testing is accurate, documented, and issues are flagged early
• Work orders are followed closely and completed on schedule
• Safety practices are consistent, especially around stored energy
• Equipment is returned to service in clean, reliable, customer ready condition
What we are looking for
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, evaluations, and work orders
• Comfort reading electrical diagrams including one line and point to point schematics
• Experience using electrical test equipment and troubleshooting wiring and components
• Safety mindset and disciplined documentation habits
• Willingness to work after hours and weekends as needed
May be modified from time to time. Other duties, tasks and work may be assigned. Must be open to working after hours and weekends, as needed.
