JOB SUMMARY
The Corporate Training Manager oversees the design, implementation, and management of Group CBS’s enterprise-wide training and workforce development initiatives. This role ensures consistency, compliance, and excellence of training across all NETA- and PEARL-accredited businesses. The position combines technical expertise, instructional design, and leadership to create scalable training systems that enhance technician development, safety culture, and operational growth across Group CBS entities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Apprenticeship & Workforce Development
• Lead and manage the DOL-registered NETA Technician Apprenticeship Program across Group CBS NETA-Accredited entities.
• Lead and manage the PEARL Train-Test-Certify Program across Group CBS PEARL-Accredited entities.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state apprenticeship requirements and oversee related reporting.
• Research and secure federal or state apprenticeship support programs including grants and wage incentives.
• Establish local training frameworks for new site technicians within Greenfield Expansion initiatives.
• Develop mentorship programs pairing senior technicians with apprentices to ensure skill progression and engagement.
• Manage lesson plans, instructor performance, and training evaluations to ensure high-quality content delivery.
Training Development & Administration
• Develop and manage company-wide training lesson plans aligned with Group CBS, NETA, PEARL, and OSHA standards.
• Maintain comprehensive training and certification history through the company’s Learning Management System.
• Create blended learning programs that combine classroom instruction, hands-on training, mentorship, and e-learning.
• Design and implement safety training modules addressing lockout/tagout, arc flash prevention, and PPE compliance.
• Align training programs with company goals, customer requirements, and performance metrics.
Operational Growth & Collaboration
• Directly supervise training staff and program coordinators; collaborate with field mentors and training liaisons.
• Ensure training programs meet or exceed all NETA, PEARL, and Group CBS QA/QC standards.
• Support technician integration and development following mergers or acquisitions.
• Champion a safety-first culture and promote knowledge sharing across all business units.
• Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, company work policies, and regulations. Works closely with Local HSE Officers to implement and maintain Group CBS Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental initiatives.
METRICS
To be determined based on program performance indicators, including apprenticeship progression, certification completion, safety compliance, training satisfaction rates and retention.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Subject Matter Expert trainers
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
• Advanced knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems and e-learning platforms.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities effectively.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Training & Development, Engineering, or related field required.
• Advanced certification in Training & Development, Instructional Design, or Organizational Leadership preferred.
• Experience in electrical testing, commissioning, or power systems training highly desirable.
• 7+ years of experience in training program management, workforce development, or technical education within the power systems or electrical testing industry.
• Strong knowledge of NETA, NFPA 70E/B, PEARL, and ASTM standards.
• Proven ability to design and manage multi-site training initiatives.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and compliance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasional reaching, stooping, or kneeling. Frequent walking and standing; continuous sitting and computer use. Lifting requirements may include up to 25 pounds occasionally.
