About Group CBS

Headquartered in Denton, Texas, Group CBS has affiliated companies throughout the U.S. and in the U.K., providing premier products and unparalleled services to the industrial, utility, and electrical distribution markets. Our companies specialize in circuit breakers, switchgear, power distribution equipment, and field service work – driven by quality, safety, and technical expertise.

We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter with a strong background in sourcing and hiring highly skilled, NETA-certified field technicians. We’re looking for someone who has personally closed tough-to-fill roles – someone who knows how to navigate complex candidate objections and convert passive interest into signed offers.” This position plays a critical role in helping us grow our technical field operations by proactively identifying and attracting top-tier talent across the country.

This isn’t a role for someone waiting for applicants to roll in. We’re seeking a recruiter who thrives in complexity, navigates ambiguity with confidence, and brings a “find a way” mindset to the table. If you’ve built talent pipelines in cold markets, negotiated tough closes, and know how to earn hiring manager trust – this role is built for you!

Position Summary

The Senior Technical Recruiter will be responsible for the full lifecycle recruitment of niche, skilled trade professionals across technical divisions. This individual must be a proactive problem solver and pragmatic partner to the business – someone who brings strong recruiting acumen, business sense, and the ability to operate with minimal direction.

Success in this role requires more than traditional recruiting tactics – our ideal candidate is a hunter, a closer, and a collaborator who understands how to find the talent others can’t, while maintaining trust and alignment with field leaders and operations stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies to identify and engage passive candidates for high-demand field service roles, with a focus on NETA-certified technicians.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the business, offering solutions and creative approaches when faced with challenging or low-traffic roles.
  • Build and manage pipelines of vetted talent, leveraging LinkedIn Recruiter, resume databases, industry associations, and trade networks.
  • Conduct candidate screenings and assessments to evaluate certifications, technical skill sets, and cultural fit.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle (end-to-end): job intake, posting, screening, coordination, offer negotiation, onboarding, etc.
  • Regularly collaborate with hiring managers and field supervisors to ensure hiring efforts are aligned with workforce plans and business needs.
  • Represent Group CBS at industry recruiting events, military programs, and trade job fairs to promote open roles and future career paths.
  • Work independently, staying organized and responsive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • This is not a role where candidates come to you. You’ll need to build networks, crack into tight markets, and influence passive talent to join a best-in-class team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Your ability to land the right talent directly influences project delivery timelines, customer satisfaction, and field safety – this is high-stakes hiring.
  • 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a technical, industrial, skilled trades, or electrical field service environment.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing and hiring NETA-certified technicians or comparable high-skill field professionals.
  • Strong understanding of NETA certification levels, field work environments, and jobsite safety standards.
  • High-level sourcing skills, including Boolean search, social media outreach, and pipeline development.
  • Exceptional communication, time management, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to manage recruiting operations without micromanagement – drives tasks forward independently and follows through to completion.

Preferred:

  • Experience recruiting within electrical testing, commissioning, or power systems industries.
  • Familiarity with veteran hiring programs and military talent pipelines.
  • Prior use of ATS/CRM platforms

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel (approx. 15–20%) for hiring events, candidate meetings, or job site visits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Must be flexible, collaborative, and capable of handling competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Willing to take on additional assignments outside of traditional recruiting to support business needs.
