JOB SUMMARY

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

An Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components to meet project specifications and industry standards. The candidate will manage projects involving low and medium voltage switchgear, motor controls centers, metering, relays and related equipment. The candidate will be expected to generate drawings, including but not limited to elevation, single- and three-line, control, and connection drawings necessary to support the production of electrical equipment. The position is office/shop based but will require customer/vendor site visits for project support.

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED   

  •        Utilize specialized software including Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD/Draftsight
  •        Understanding of electrical power equipment, including: Molded-case and metal-clad industrial circuit breakers, switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •        Generate drawings, including but not limited to elevation, single- and three-line, control, and connection drawings necessary to support the production of electrical equipment.
  •        Design electrical systems, circuits, and components using CAD software, adhering to project requirements, codes, and standards.
  •        Provide occasional assistance to the Field Services division as needed for electrical testing support.
  •        Troubleshoot and debug electrical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  •        Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications detailing design requirements, test results, and project milestones.
  •        Maintain accurate records of design changes, revisions, and project progress to support documentation and compliance efforts.
  •        Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to integrate electrical systems into multidisciplinary projects.
  •        Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and vendors to gather requirements, address concerns, and provide technical support.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  •        In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, theories, and practices, with a focus on power systems, electronics, or telecommunications.
  •        Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools for electrical design and analysis.
  •        Familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as NEC, IEEE, and IEC, NETA, governing electrical design, safety, and compliance.
  •        Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and propose effective solutions.
  •        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE   

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components.
