Job Title:  HR Generalist       

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: On-site, Denton, TX

 


 

JOB SUMMARY  

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing full-scope, day-to-day HR generalist services across assigned locations, with a focus on tactical support, employee relations, and field-based HR execution. This role supports the Director of HR in implementing and administering core HR functions and ensures consistent application of policies and procedures across the organization.

This position delivers end-to-end HR support, including recruitment coordination, offer letter generation, preboarding, onboarding, HRIS updates, employee documentation, and offboarding. The HR Generalist also serves as a resource for employee relations, helping resolve workplace concerns, advising leaders on disciplinary actions, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.

A key aspect of this role is maintaining visibility and accessibility across field and shop-floor teams, including routine travel to operational sites to support leaders, coach employees, and reinforce an engaged, performance-driven culture.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Tactical HR Support & Execution

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for field/shop employees across multiple locations.
  • Support HR operational processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, documentation, I-9 compliance, and HRIS entries.
  • Maintain HR documentation with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Lead investigations and resolve employee relations matters with professionalism, consistency, and legal compliance.
  • Coach supervisors and managers on performance management, progressive discipline, and conflict resolution.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and employment regulations, and partner with legal counsel as needed.

Manager & Employee Coaching

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to frontline leaders, helping them navigate HR challenges.
  • Support employees with questions related to policies, benefits, leaves, and career development.
  • Deliver HR-related training to improve manager capability and awareness.

Field Travel & Culture Engagement

  • Regularly visit shop floors and field sites to build relationships, observe culture, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support on-the-ground HR presence for investigations, terminations, coaching conversations, and employee events.

Data & Reporting

  • Generate and maintain workforce reports, headcount tracking, and HR metrics to help inform business decisions.
  • Analyze trends in turnover, employee issues, and engagement data and make recommendations for improvement.

Other Core Duties

  • Participate in cross-functional HR projects and support process improvements across the organization.
  • Lead or assist with organizational initiatives including talent development, recognition programs, and workforce planning.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Experience:

  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on employee relations and field-based support
  • Experience supporting hourly and non-exempt populations in manufacturing, utilities, or industrial environments highly preferred
  • Strong investigative skills and demonstrated success managing complex employee relations cases
  • Comfortable traveling and operating in field/shop environments

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED   

  • Knowledge of HR best practices in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and software for data management, reporting, and analytics.
  • Understanding of benefits administration processes, including enrollment, eligibility determination, and plan design.
  • Ability to analyze HR data, trends, and metrics to identify areas for improvement and support decision-making.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve conflicts and employee issues effectively and diplomatically.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of relevant HR experience will be considered
  • Experience in human resources roles, with demonstrated knowledge and experience in HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred (or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire)
