This is a Part-time (26 hours per week) Hybrid role that would be ideal for someone looking for part time work to suit their lifestyle. This is an opportunity to work in a flexible, autonomous environment where you’ll be respected and supported.
As a Tax Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Tax Team to deliver timely and accurate tax reporting and lodgement obligations, while identifying tax risks and opportunities. You’ll work closely with the Tax Manager to provide technical tax advice, drive process improvements, and ensure strong governance under the RAA Group Tax Governance Framework.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Assisting in the preparation of Group income tax returns, tax effect calculations, reconciliations, and journal entries.
· Preparing or reviewing monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS) and supporting GST testing and resolution of issues.
· Co-managing the annual Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) process, including preparation of working papers and liaising with business units.
· Preparing periodic payroll tax returns and ensuring payroll tax compliance across the Group.
· Supporting payroll with Single Touch Payroll compliance and ensuring wage codes align with legislative changes.
· Assisting with tax governance reviews, ATO audits, and continuous improvement of tax processes and controls.
· Supporting broader finance projects and providing technical advice across FBT, GST, and fixed assets when required.
About You:
You are a detail-oriented and analytical accounting professional who thrives on precision and process improvement. You’re highly self-motivated, able to work independently, and passionate about ensuring tax integrity and compliance. You bring strong technical tax knowledge and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and confidently. You’ll also bring:
· A tertiary qualification in Accounting (mandatory)
· CPA/CA qualification completed or currently in progress.
· 3–4 years’ experience in a similar tax accounting role.
· Strong knowledge of Income Tax, FBT, and GST.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
· Experience in CCH Integrator, or FBTOneSource (desirable).
· Previous experience in a Big 4 or large corporate tax environment (preferred).
