There couldn’t be a better time to join RAA. In our People & Capability team we’re resetting our operating model, to ensure we’re set up to best support our business and the needs of our workforce.

We’re creating a stand-alone Employee Relations function which will help us deliver the employment conditions that reflect the needs of our business now and into the future and will provide first line and specialist advice and support to our leaders and people.

The opportunity

Reporting to our Chief People Office, the Senior Manager Employee Relations will be part of the P&C Leadership Team, who together lead our business unit to bring to life RAA’s vision and purpose for our People Strategy.

In this key leadership role, you’ll balance both the strategic thinking and the operational implementation of a diverse range of workplace and industrial relations matters. You will also lead the end-to-end bargaining cycle for enterprise agreements, working with our business leaders to formulate strategy, plan and negotiate through to ensuring effective change management to implement outcomes.

As a new function, you’ll be able to help shape how your team delivers for the business and interacts across P&C, with their scope including:

  • Providing first line HR advice and support to leaders
  • Providing specialist industrial relations advice to the broader P&C team
  • Managing complex disciplinary matters, workplace investigations, grievances and terminations, including representation in legal matters as required
  • Negotiating enterprise agreements
  • Monitoring and managing legislative and regulatory reform, and ensure good governance
  • Driving a contemporary, fit for purpose P&C policy framework
  • Managing employment administration

About you

You are a strategic leader who thrives in managing complexity and navigating ambiguity within a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You will be a natural collaborator, whose communication approach means people feel heard and understand the why.  You’ll be an effective negotiator with the ability to build productive relationships. Importantly, you’ll thrive as a people leader – someone who motivates and inspires your team and builds their confidence and capability.

To support your team to deliver, you will be calm under pressure, demonstrate the ability to analyse sensitive and complex issues, and have a strong understanding of Australia’s industrial landscape and eco-system. Underpinned by tertiary qualifications in Employment Law, HR or a relevant discipline.
