What you’ll do:
As our Principal Data Engineer, you’ll:
- Advocate data strategy with stakeholders and collaborate to plan initiative delivery
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate complex data demands into deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership, guiding a team of data engineers to deliver high-value solutions.
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and sustainable data platform solutions.
- Champion data governance and best practice engineering, ensuring integrity, performance, and compliance.
- Drive operational excellence, identifying opportunities for optimisation and embedding self-healing solutions
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a seasoned professional with:
- 15+ years’ experience specialising in data engineering, SQL database development, or BI engineering.
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent (preferred)
- Strong specialisation in database development, analytics data platforms, data transformation, data governance, CI/CD and DevOps.
- Deep expertise in building analytical data warehousing and data marts with complex data sets.
- Proven leadership in guiding teams, planning initiatives, and delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
- Strong technical skills in AWS Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, dbt, SSIS, and CI/CD practices.
- Exceptional communication skills—able to simplify complex technical concepts and engage stakeholders.
- A passion for collaboration, innovation, transformation and building sustainable data solutions.
