The Float Member Consultant will be routinely assigned to different branch locations to provide support as needed. This position will earn a monthly fixed amount of sales incentive plus ancillary products and services. This position is responsible for providing an exceptional in-branch member experience by handling member needs from sales to service, including teller transactions, opening all types of new accounts including IRAs and HSAs as well as credit cards.  This position will also be responsible for performing service and maintenance on accounts (including address and name changes, wire transfers, and electronic services). As the incumbent progresses in this role, they will begin to learn how to originate, process, and close auto and other types of personal loans. Utilizing a needs-based approach, they will provide solutions based on member needs and how the member likes to conduct their banking.  Will serve as an operational and product knowledge resource for other team members.  Time spent in various aspects of this role will vary from day-to-day depending upon credit union needs.  Employees are expected to demonstrate and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and internal policies and procedures. Must comply with all SAFE Act registration procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

·        Establish new banking relationships with members ensuring they are offered products and services through a needs base selling approach that are appropriate given their financial needs.

·        Establish, maintain, and deepen relationships with credit union members to achieve branch and individual performance goals and provide excellent member service by following Purdue Federal’s service expectations.

·        Identify and refer members to Purdue Federal team members who have expertise in products such as loans, home equity loans, mortgages, investment services, and member business services.

·        Create amicable relationships with the team members at each location to help create a productive environment.

·        Provide account servicing and maintenance, and assist with problem resolution for clients in accordance with all established procedures and regulations.

·        Process transactions accurately, assist with operational activities (i.e. balancing/servicing recylcers and vault) and responsibilities, and maintain flexibility between performing teller and sales related transactions.

·        Encourage members to use self-service banking solutions including, ATMs and digital banking to enhance their service experience.

·        Responsible for finding creative solutions for solving member problems as well as finds creative approaches for achieving branch sales and service goals.

·        Has solid knowledge of business partner products (investment services, mortgage, and member business services) to ensure quality referrals are made.

·        May be asked to answer Contact Center calls during high volume times.  

·        Help create amicable and productive working relationships with other Purdue Federal team members including support departments.

·        Could be asked to be a training resource for other Member Consultants.

·        Take ownership of personal development opportunities.


Required Skills

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

·        Education and Credentials

o   High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

o   Consideration will be given to those with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Sales without 6 months of previous experience. 

·        Experience

o   Minimum of 6 months experience financial services industry, retail, and/or sales

o   Customer service experience

·        Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

o   Competent computer skills

o   Problem solving skills

o   Proven success in a sales environment

o   Capable of managing and prioritizing a multitude of tasks

o   Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, vendors and company contacts
