Precise Systems is looking for an experienced government contracting Accounting Manager who will have direct responsibility for specific accounting and financial functions. Primary oversight responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable/billing, travel, and the corporate credit card program.  Additionally, the manager will assist with compliance and financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will participate in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure transactions, monthly close and reporting processes are efficient and accurate.

Place of Performance: Reston, Virginia. Must live within reasonable driving distance or be willing to relocate to Reston, Virginia. Hybrid/Remote schedule authorized. 2 days in office, in Reston, with 3 days remote delivery. 

Duties: 

  • The Accounting Manager reports to the Controller and supervises an accounting team of 5 mid to senior level employees. 
  • This position is responsible for mentoring and developing the team with consistent and constructive feedback along with the annual performance review process.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline with at least five (5) years of experience in federal government/industry proposal, finance or contracts functions. Years of experience will be considered in lieu of education requirements.

Required Experience: 

  • A minimum of 5-7 years experience in a government contracting environment within the accounting/finance group. And at least 3 of these years should be as an Accounting Supervisor or Manager.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Deltek CostPoint is required. Advanced knowledge and experience with the Project Module is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of government accounting regulations, DCAA requirements and FAR compliance
  • Proven experience and understanding of cost pools and multi-level service center allocations
  • Experience with all types of government contracts, with a specific and thorough understanding of Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF)
  • Intermediate level of Excel experience desired
  • Experience using and/or administering SAP Concur is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills. Flexible and reliable self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $82,742.78 to $124,114.48 (hourly USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems’ total compensation package.
