We are currently seeking a Communications Specialist to support our government customers to develop and produce effective, data-driven communication materials and presentations for internal and/or external leadership personnel. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cleaning, transforming, validating, and exporting data to support building executive-level presentations. 
This candidate must also have experience creating images, illustrations and infographics using Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Knowledge and understanding of the Acquisition Management System (AMS) suite of acquisition business applications is a plus! All selected candidates will be required to submit a portfolio. 

 

Duties will include:

  • Research and identify communications opportunities and determine appropriate strategies and solutions.
  •  Consult with subject matter experts (SMEs) across the programs to identify key messages and align communications plans with various initiatives.
  •  Prepare internal and/or external communications, materials, and presentations in a variety of print and digital formats.
  • Manage full project lifecycle from initial requirements to design, production and delivery.
  •  Draft and revise key messaging that aligns with established communications plans.
  • Create products including, but not limited to: PowerPoint presentations, infographics, illustrations, logos/branding, fact sheets, brochures and training manuals.
  •  Validate exported data, proofread, edit, and ensure communications and materials/presentations are reviewed and approved at required levels prior to execution.

  • Proven communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Be self-motivated, detail oriented and possess ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
  •  Ability to produce error-free content with correct grammar, punctuation and consistency with AP Style and internal guidelines.
  • Strong English verbal and writing skills for concise content creation/revision to achieve clarity and organizational completion.
  • Effective collaboration skills to enable constructive participate in and/or guide group discussions and peer reviews.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud design applications (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint
  • Acquisition Management System (AMS) suite of acquisition business applications is a plus!

Required Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in English or Communications strongly preferred or An AS or AA degree and three (3) years of overall experience plus the amount of detailed experience that matches the experience/training requirement for this position may be substituted for a BS or BA degree; or B) Five (5) years of overall experience in project support of which at least three (3) years must be in public relations and communication may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.

Required Experience:

  • At least three (3) years of recent relevant experience performing technical writing/communications tasks. Minimum of three (3) years of related analytical and/or communications experience highly desired.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
