All work is performed on site, 5 days per week, in Virginia. No remote delivery authorized.
 
We are currently seeking a System Engineer, Senior to support the sea-launched cruise missile, nuclear, or SLCM-N program in the A50 Division at Dahlgren. System Engineers who have worked on large Navy weapons systems, performed requirements development/refinement, and are both analytical and process oriented.  Experience creating/revising requirements, creating/revising technical papers, participating in LCCBs and CCBs, be comfortable speaking up during telcons, and able to lead A50’s process to corral a team of engineers to create packages addressing the draft set of changes needed to implement a change in the system. 
 
Duties:
  • Participate in design working group and technical interchange meetings
  • Develop and manage DODAF architecture and Model Based System Engineering products and initiatives for a US Navy, Major Weapon System in support of system engineering program development
  • Review and analyze system requirements and identify impacts to the appropriate requirements and/or design specifications
  • Support system specification updates and associated performance enhancements and interface development / upgrade efforts
  • Maintenance of design traceability and design documentation
  • Provide subject matter expertise and systems engineering to maintain system design alignment with external programs of record
  • Identify integration issues and system requirements discrepancies across multiple systems
  • Maintain system and software design in model-based systems engineering tool
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Required Education:
  • BS degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or ten (10) years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise.
Required Experience: 
  • Senior - ten (10) years professional systems engineering experience with a DoD major platform, weapon, Command and Control (C2), or fire control systems program
  • Five (5) years concurrent experience as a team leader performing system engineering and mission engineering efforts that include developing requirements, top level designs and system architectures for software intensive systems
    • This includes experience related to the identification, analysis and resolution of complex systems engineering design issues involving platform, weapon, C2, and fire control systems for Navy/Joint warfighting capabilities.  
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $101,648.64 to $152,472.96 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems’ total compensation package.
