Precise Systems is seeking an Electronic Engineer to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. The Electronic Engineer will be a Counter small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS) Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Subject Matter Expert (SME). The C-sUAS EW SME will be responsible for developing solution concepts and integrating capabilities of multiple types of C-sUAS and electromagnetic systems.
This position executes all duties on site, 5 days per week, at NSWC Crane, Indiana. No remote delivery authorized.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and integration of C-sUAS EW capabilities on various platforms
- Support the modernization and sustainment of C-sUAS EMW systems
- Familiar with internal research and development (IRAD) efforts and transition technology into relevant programs
- Develop requirements for integration of C-sUAS EMW systems
- Develop and execute verification and validation activities for integrated C-sUAS EMW systems
- Evaluation of hardware and software standards to determine limitations that could impact HW/SW convergence, and proposals to reduce those limitations
- Integration of COTS/GOTS SW into multi-functional RF systems. This SW may provide any range of RF capabilities (C-sUAS, EMW, Cyber, SIGINT, etc.) or analytical tools supporting exploitation of the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS)
- Remain current on relevant EMW capabilities across industry, government, and academia
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Math, Physics, or equivalent) and eight (8)+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with six (6)+ years of prior relevant experience. Direct experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Advanced signals analysis experience
- Strong understanding of frequency agile signals
- Strong understanding of leveraging program dollars across Services for commonality
- Experience integrating C-sUAS systems
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication, excellent team working experience.
- Experience with tactical processing, exploitation, and dissemination architectures/capabilities that support RF data collection and analysis in austere mission locations
- Previous experience with line-of sight and beyond-line-of-sight data links
- Embedded software development and interfacing with FPGAs in tightly coupled processor configurations (such as Zynq MPSoCs / RFSoCs)
- Hardware peripheral programming and control for both digital and analog devices
- Deployment of software solutions within containerized environments such as Docker
- Experience with cellular and WAN protocol specifications, such as 3GPP (5GNR, LTE, WCDMA, GSM), IEEE 802.11 (WIFI), IEEE 802.15 (UWB, Zigbee), and/or LoRaWAN, to include finding and using for specific technical implementation details
Familiarity/expertise with the below strongly desired:
- MORA, MOSA, OpenVPX, VITA, SOSA, Big Iron, CMOSS, GNU Radio, VICTORY, FPGA, Java, Python, C, C++, SOAP, REST, Linux, databases, cryptography, advanced SDR applications.
