JOB PURPOSE:
The Director of Finance – Retail Division serves as the strategic finance leader for Numotion’s Retail Division (SpinLife), partnering closely with senior leadership to drive profitable growth, margin optimization, and disciplined financial decision‑making. This role provides end‑to‑end financial leadership across planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management while translating complex financial data into actionable insights that support business strategy.
The Director acts as a trusted advisor to Retail Division leadership, supporting go‑to‑market strategies, merchandising and pricing decisions, investment planning, and operational efficiency initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial rigor, transparency, and accountability across the Retail Division while aligning with broader Numotion financial objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the primary finance partner to Retail Division leadership, providing strategic guidance on revenue growth, margin performance, cost management, and investment decisions.

Lead the annual operating plan and budget process for the Retail Division, including detailed modeling of revenue, gross margin, payroll, operating expenses, and capital considerations.

Oversee monthly financial reporting and variance analysis, delivering clear insights into performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.

Develop and maintain robust forecasting models and scenario analyses to support short‑ and long‑term decision‑making.

Coordinate cross‑functionally with Accounting, Sales, Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations to prepare weekly revenue forecasts and executive‑level financial updates for Retail leadership and the Numotion CFO.

Partner with Merchandising and Commercial teams to support pricing strategies, promotional planning, discounting decisions, and SKU‑level margin analysis.

Analyze financial performance trends and business drivers to identify opportunities for margin expansion, cost optimization, and operational improvement; recommend and track corrective action plans as needed.

Provide ongoing analytics and data validation related to revenue, margin, and operating performance, ensuring accuracy and consistency across financial and operational systems.

Support go‑to‑market strategies, new initiatives, and growth investments by evaluating financial viability, return on investment, and associated risks.

Establish and refine financial processes, tools, and reporting to improve efficiency, scalability, and decision support within the Retail Division.

Utilize Numotion Leadership Principles to perform the job with integrity, compliance, and values consistent with Numotion’s mission.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred

6+ years of progressive finance experience, including experience supporting senior leaders and complex business operations.

Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.

Strong understanding of P&L management, margin analysis, and revenue drivers in a retail, e‑commerce, or multi‑location environment.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, with the ability to build and interpret complex financial models.

Demonstrated ability to influence decision‑making through data‑driven insights and clear financial storytelling.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to executive and non‑financial audiences.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial and business information.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Experience supporting retail, consumer, or e‑commerce businesses with merchandising and pricing complexity.

Experience partnering cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams.

Demonstrated success leading or influencing process improvements and financial transformation initiatives.

Experience operating in a growth‑oriented or matrixed organization.

Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic objectives, operational realities, and financial discipline.
