Numotion, North America's largest provider of mobility products and services, is seeking a dedicated Service Technician to join our team in Rochester at our BH Town Line Rd location. This full-time, regular position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of people with disabilities by servicing and repairing complex manual and powered wheelchairs and other essential medical equipment.

As a Service Technician at Numotion, you will play a vital role in our mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include diagnosing and repairing mobility equipment according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring each piece is safe, reliable, and fully functional for individuals who depend on it daily. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will directly impact customer satisfaction and quality of life.

Your work will take place both in our shop and in the field, where you'll identify issues, obtain quotes, and complete repairs efficiently. You'll be responsible for maintaining rental and stock equipment, keeping it clean, organized, and in reliable working order. Additionally, you'll maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop/warehouse at all times.

A key aspect of your role involves managing parts inventory by receiving, storing, and shipping components for equipment repairs, as well as maintaining accurate documentation of all service activities. You'll also play a crucial role in customer education, teaching users and caregivers about proper equipment use, care, and safety practices to enhance longevity and user safety.

The position requires performing minor fittings and adjustments to ensure equipment is customized and comfortable for each user. You'll need to follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and participate in required in-service training to stay current with the latest industry practices and product knowledge.

This mid-career position is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in helping others. While no travel is required for this position, you will need a valid State Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, as you may need to travel to various locations within the immediate service area.

The physical demands of this role include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pull/push equipment weighing over 100 lbs as necessary. You'll also need to be comfortable with prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling. Strong manual dexterity is essential for equipment manipulation and repairs, and you must be able to work in various weather conditions, especially during field operations. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.

 
Pay Range: $20.33 to $26.42. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location.

Required Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years of relevant mechanical experience
  • Experience with medical equipment preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a technical or mechanical role
  • Previous experience with wheelchair repair or mobility equipment (preferred)
  • Experience working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with inventory management and parts tracking (preferred)
  • Experience with customer service or client interaction
  • Experience with basic documentation and record-keeping
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team
