JOB PURPOSE:
The Director of Licensing & Credentialing provides strategic leadership and oversight for all credentialing, licensing, and payer enrollment activities for the organization. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, sets departmental goals, drives process improvements, and acts as the escalation point for complex issues. The Director manages relationships with payers, external partners, and internal stakeholders, and oversees the performance and development of the department.
The pay range for this position is $114,400-130,000 salary. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set strategic direction and establish goals for licensing, credentialing, and payer enrollment functions.
- Oversee all regulatory licenses (including federal, state, city) and ensure timely acquisition, renewal, and compliance for business operations.
- Lead and mentor the Senior Manager and department staff, providing coaching, guidance for career development.
- Develop and monitor departmental performance metrics; proactively drive process improvement initiatives.
- Serve as escalation point for complex issues related to credentialing, licensing, and payer enrollment.
- Oversee administration of Medicare/Medicaid Provider Programs and commercial payer credentialing.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (e.g., ACHC) as required, in partnership with compliance team.
- Oversee processes with registered agents, ensure state annual reports and certifications are current.
- Oversee the management of surety bonds, SAM-system enrollment, and insurance certificates.
- Ensure timely submission and tracking of licenses, payer enrollments, and updates (address changes, closures, new locations).
- Oversee resolution of credentialing issues and ensure transparency of credentialing status to business stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports to executive leadership on compliance status, risks, and opportunities.
- Uphold organizational values, confidentiality, and customer service standards. Collaborate with compliance, legal, operations, and sales teams to support business growth and risk mitigation.
- Prepare regular reports for the Chief Operation Officer on compliance status, risks, and opportunities. Uphold Numotion Leadership Principles, organizational values, and confidentiality standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, resolving concerns promptly.
- Utilize Numotion Leadership Principles to perform the job with integrity, compliance, and values consistent with Numotion’s mission.
- Adhere to employee or customer confidentiality and comply with Numotion’s policies and federal regulations.
- Always provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, regulatory affairs, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare licensing or credentialing
- Working knowledge of CMS supplier standards, DMEPOS credentialing, and state-level licensing requirements.
- Experience with TJC, ACHC, HQAA, or similar bodies.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience working within a healthcare environment.
- Prior experience working within a durable medical equipment environment.
