SUMMARY: Due to an upcoming retirement, we have an opening for a Lending Sales Specialist.  This position provides support to both internal business partners and external clients in order to ensure superior service. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  North Shore Bank's Position Descriptions are intended to describe only the major functions of the job. Everyone is expected to contribute whatever efforts necessary to operate efficiently and effectively to insure the success of the Bank. 

Coordinates the processes necessary to ensure the quality and efficiency of all new account set-ups for Commercial Banking, by partnering with the appropriate Retail staff. Processes include such things as: account openings; ordering business checks; assigning appropriate Officer codes in the system; ensuring appropriate account holds are removed; and, monitoring the new account for a period of time to ensure customer is assigned to appropriate product and accounts are performing as anticipated by the customer.

Identifies potential additional customer business needs and confers with appropriate internal business partners in order to grow and develop client relationships.

Responds to questions from Retail business partners relating to Commercial and Treasury Management clients to assist with resolving standard situations.  

Provides “high touch” service to Commercial Loan and Treasury Management clients with service related issues to ensure timely resolution.

Assists Commercial Loan Officers with portfolio monitoring requirements such as: assisting with timely collection of financials; contacting clients or internal business partners to gather needed information; receive and log business financials and cross-check exception reports for accuracy.

Assists Commercial Loan Officers and Treasury Management staff as needed for loan renewal and/or annual review processes. This may involve client contact including completing closings and ensuring documents are timely forwarded to internal business partners.

Assists SVP Commercial Banking Manager with projects and various reports as needed, such as previewing expense reports and processing department invoices, etc. Gathers information and prepares wire forms and submits to wire desk for timely processing.

Provides high touch service to Commercial clients through phone/email/in-person contact in the absence of a Lender or Manager, or as requested.

Coordinates and assists with networking functions for the Commercial Area while working with internal and external contacts to ensure successful events.

Coordinates mailings for business development and prospecting initiatives.

Orders and manages supplies for department marketing items, co-branded gift cards, and department office supplies.

Provides front-of-office support including greeting customers, answering phones, and calendar management for department staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required.  Minimum of 3 years of sales support experience or other business role which involves client support is required. Position requires effective verbal and written communication skills. Must have competence in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Position requires ability to complete multiple priorities and complete projects within deadlines; complete independent research and determine effective resolutions; work with clients at high organizational levels; work a flexible schedule as necessary to meet with clients and/or attend networking events; and, work in a fast-paced environment with a diversity of responsibilities.

This position requires ability to travel via automobile to visit clients and attend off-site business events as needed.
