Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor, Maintenance - Facilities Engineering - Full Time, Evenings - Facility Mgt-Plant Main&Rep.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for supervising the off-shift Engineering team. Oversight and operations plant operations & maintenance and repair. Works with Engineering staff as they complete repairs in patient rooms and coordinates with the Bedboard on room availability. Acts as liaison between the Engineering Department and Environmental Services Department and schedules completed rooms for cleaning. Provides managers with updates and progress of the room repairs each night and maintains records of room repairs. Responds to all building utility issues and fire alarm activations.

- Supervises employees performing renovations and repairs off-shift or evening

Performs other duties as assigned, including managing work order distribution and follow up and ensuring evening shift staff complete their assigned PMs and tasks.

Coordinates with other departments for room availability and room completion. Responsible for all aspects of room renovations to include wallpaper repair, painting, plumbing, HVAC maintenance, duct cleaning, ceiling and floor tile replacement or repair, cove base replacement repair, etc.

Prioritizes necessary room repairs with Engineering Management, Environmental Department, Nursing and Bed Board.

Evaluates room renovation requirements and inspect all completed work. Coordinates with multiple Departments to inspect the rooms (ceiling tiles, floor tiles, paint, AC system and plumbing fixtures) and assigns the work to the shops as needed.

Supports management with the hospital snow removal efforts. Monitor conditions during a snowstorm and call-in Union Employees, from the active snow removal list. Assign the employees to operate the snow equipment and shoveling detail. If needed, coordinate the removal of snow piles off campus.

Assists the Engineering Department in efforts to complete all NFPA 101 Life Safety Code Deficiencies. (i.e. NFPA 101; Means of Egress, Features of Fire Protection, New Health Care Occupancies and Existing Health Care Occupancies)
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED. Professional Certifications / Registration: Indicate special certifications that are required or
preferred for the position. 5 to 7 years experience in construction, Facilities Management or other related fields.
Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, leadership skills. Ability to read and follow technical documents, manuals, drawings, schematics, specifications, and blueprints. Knowledgeable of all pertinent codes and regulations as found in the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code 2012 Edition. Such as Features of Fire Protection, New Health Care Occupancies and
Existing Health Care Occupancies. Proficient Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree Engineering or related field.

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $71,100.00 - $90,418.39 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
