Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Medical Photographer.
In this role, the successful candidate The function of the plastic surgery medical photographer is to provide responsible highly skilled work within all aspects of general, medical and scientific photography and videography. The employee is responsible for performing a variety of medical scientific and illustrative photography/videography by digital means in support of clinical, surgical, education and research functions and for institutional events and publications. The position requires the full comprehension of digital imaging techniques and equipment, imaging software and a thorough understanding of the institutions ethical and legal guidelines concerning medical and research photography. The employee supervises and works closely with lower level medical photographers and assistant medical photographers in execution of imaging needs. The employee provides quality control of all completed work to assure high quality and to ensure the institutional standards are met
Job Responsibilities:
- Photographing physician and staff for departmental publications and events
- Photograph medical surgical subjects that are often sensitive and confidential and that require specific technical knowledge including knowledge of institutional guidelines
- Prepare files using image management software and transfer photographic files into patient digital charts and institutional storage drives and backup systems
- Work with department physicians to develop specific photographic protocols and standards for photographing patients
- Selecting and maintaining photographic/video equipment to be used to produce images
- Supervise lower medical photographers and assistants in performance of photographic image making, file preparation and management utilizing the protocols established by the Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Degree. The candidate must have at least 5 years of professional photography experience. A portfolio of photographic work and publication examples must be submitted for consideration for the position. Knowledgeable in the operation of digital still, video cameras and 3dCamera systems, studio and location lighting used for medical and general photography. Knowledgeable in post digital image capture, file exportation, correction, preparation using photographic editing software, ie; Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, Premier Pro. Knowledge in proper care and maintenance of all photographic equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior medical photography experience. Degree in Photography preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $38,999.99 - $56,100.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
