Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager-Revenue Cycle.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing the daily management of the Billing and Insurance Follow-up for the Revenue Cycle Operations team, coordinating functions with other divisions of the department, optimizing staff performance through process redesign, policy/procedure implementation, communications, and outcome feedback; attending managerial meetings as a representative of the department; providing orientation, training and continuing education for all staff; plus all related job duties as assigned. Supports and demonstrates the Philosophy/Mission of the NYU Langone Medical Center in performing duties and representation
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the operations of the Revenue Cycle Operations department, including follow-up with managed care insurance companies and government billing edits.
- Oversee the daily operations of the collections department.
- Handle resubmissions of denials and maximize reimbursement efforts to lower A/R and expedite the revenue cycle.
- Utilize experience in bill adjudication and accounts receivable functions to resolve billing and collections issues.
- Ensure cash optimization and accounts receivable reduction activities are functioning at full capacity.
- Recruit, select, orient, and manage staff.
- Assist with providing constructive feedback and developing training tools.
- Provide leadership through effective communication, guidance, feedback, and delegation
- Perform data mining and in-depth accounts receivable analysis.
- Develop and enhance tracking mechanisms to monitor accounts through billing protocols.
- Collect and analyze payer data to identify denial, underpayment, overpayment, and appeal trends for further review.
- Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for RCO teams, monitor, and report on all accounts receivable KPIs to the Revenue Cycle Director.
- Validate all data and reports for accuracy and quality prior to distribution.
- Act as a liaison with internal and external business partners, departments, and contracted payers and vendors.
- Work collaboratively with various departments within NYULMC to address and resolve revenue cycle issues.
- Adhere to compliance and departmental policies and procedures, including 100% compliance with HIPAA requirements, required training, and other hospital-mandated activities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporate them into daily duties.
- Develops/updates policies and procedures.
- Work independently, take initiative, and think critically.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in business administration or healthcare administration or related field.
5+ years of experience in healthcare or related field are required.
High level of analytical skills and dynamic communication skills (verbal and written) are required.
Microsoft Excel and Word familiarity required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have previous managerial experience in a large healthcare setting with experience in hospital finance and reporting. Skilled in data extraction, manipulation and analysis is preferred. Microsoft Products proficiency is a plus.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $101,493.51 - $125,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
