Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quality Assurance Analyst.

In this role, the successful candidate reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for coordinating quality assurance procedures, auditing and monitoring user performance, and proposing preventive measures to correct and improve business processes in order to meet established Hospital Billing (HB) quality standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills, a comprehensive understanding of hospital billing revenue cycle workflows, strong attention to detail, and initiative in identifying issues, opportunities, and solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand workflows and standard operating procedures related to Hospital Billing revenue cycle functions, including (but not limited to) authorizations, coding, correspondence, claims, accounts receivable, and credits.
  • Utilize HB Pathways and documentation as a guide for determining appropriate actions to resolve unpaid or incorrectly paid claims as part of workflow quality reviews.
  • Perform audits of work completed in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently perform operating procedures in areas subject to audit.
  • Compare benchmark results to NYU Hospital Billing standards for both internal and offshore teams.
  • Track, analyze, and report employee performance against established quality and productivity standards.
  • Adhere to departmental compliance policies and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, calibration sessions, and workflow development initiatives.
  • Ensure employee activities align with departmental protocols and comply with Federal, State, and payer regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required
  • 1–3 years of experience in a hospital billing or healthcare revenue cycle environment preferred
  • Prior experience in healthcare finance, operations, medical reimbursement, and managed care contracts
  • Working knowledge of hospital billing revenue cycle processes

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66,300 - $90,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
