Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Coordinator.

The Project Coordinator will provide comprehensive operational, administrative, and regulatory support to ensure the efficient and compliant functioning of a NIH-funded research project, Behavioral Phenoscreening: Remote Assessment of Child Mental Health (REACH), under the supervision of Drs. Moriah Thomason and Lauren Shuffrey. The ideal candidate will support operational, administrative, and regulatory functions; act as a central hub for internal and external collaborators including the IMPACT-MH network; and help maintain rigorous study documentation, data organization, and project tracking systems. This position also fosters a collaborative, inclusive environment by supporting team operations, training, onboarding, and cross-project coordination, while assisting with special initiatives and PI-directed priorities.

Job Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

The Project Coordinators primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Project Operations & Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and workflows for the REACH project.
  • Support administrative functions that keep the research team organized, informed, and on schedule.
  • Coordinate project meetings, events, team communications, and retreats.

Regulatory & Documentation Support

  • Prepare and support IRB submissions, amendments, renewals, and approvals in compliance with institutional and NIH guidelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date regulatory tracking logs and documentation.

Data & Study Tracking

  • Assist with organization of project files, data management, and study tracking processes.
  • Support data documentation and quality control efforts as needed.

Team Support & Lab Culture

  • Provide individualized professional and administrative support to research staff.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new team members, coordinate training schedules, and support professional development initiatives.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for research team members and help cultivate an inclusive, collaborative team environment.

Cross-Project & Collaborative Coordination

  • Act as a central liaison for internal lab members, external partners, and the IMPACT-MH network.
  • Support coordination across project sites and collaborators.

Budgeting & Grant Support

  • Assist with administrative components of grant management, financial tracking, and reporting as delegated by the PI.

Special Projects

  • Execute special projects and time-sensitive tasks at the discretion of the Principal Investigator.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multi task while paying attention to details.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree or equivalent in health care administration, psychology, or related field.
Minimum of two years of progressively responsible project coordination experience, preferably in a research setting.
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook.
Effective oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66,300.00 - $70,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
