Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physical Therapy Resident.
In this role, the successful candidate The NYU Langone Medical Center (NYULMC) Physical Therapy Residency is a 12-month program that provides the resident with an intensive and individualized experience in a defined area of clinical practice within the profession of physical therapy. The goal of the residency is to enable the resident to develop the advanced clinical skills necessary to provide a superior level of patient care. As an integral member of the Rusk Rehabilitation clinical team, the resident will provide direct and mentored patient care as assigned by the unit supervisor. Upon completion of the residency, the resident will have gained the knowledge and experience to be a competent advanced practitioner, and be qualified to sit for board certification in their defined area of clinical practice, e.g. Orthopedics, Neurology, etc. This program follows the guidelines and accreditation standards of the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE)
Job Responsibilities:

Conducts initial evaluation of physical therapy needs for specifically assigned patient population
|

Implements treatment plans and protocols according to current professional and health system standards
|
|
Completes all documentation required for patient care and reimbursement
|
|
Responsible for a level of patient care productivity as indicated by individual unit procedures and as defined by program
|
|
Participates in structured mentorship activities designed to develop advanced skills and competence in providing patient care |
|
Engages in clinical mentoring activities that benefit physical therapy colleagues and students
|
|
Provides in-service presentations
|
| Participates in academic work, including special projects, teaching, research activities, and/or presentations related to designated area of physical therapy practice |
|
Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates appropriate professionalism during job performance |
|
Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Behavioral Competencies and Competency Framework and incorporates them into the performance of duties. |
|
Performs other duties as assigned. |

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Master of Physical Therapy degree. Licensure in the State of New York. Recent graduates of CAPTE accredited physical therapy programs are eligible to apply as well as physical therapists that are new to the field of Neuro or Ortho and seek one on one mentoring.
Good communication and interpersonal skills..
Required Licenses: Phys Thrpst License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT).
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $61,288.35 - $81,300.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
