Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Director at the IBD Center in Manhattan.
The Assistant Director has overall responsibility to plan, organize and direct the clinical operations of the ambulatory facilities in support of clinical, educational and research missions for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center (IBD Center). Reporting to the Administrative Director, the Assistant Director is expected to work in close collaboration with the Administrative Director to achieve the strategic and operational goals. This position will oversee an ambulatory management team, clinical staff, support staff and the research team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the organization’s service standards and incorporate them into the performance of duties.
- Operations Management: Plans, directs and coordinates the day-to-day activities of ambulatory practices. Responsible for implementation of FGP, Hospital and NYU planning decisions and enforcement of policies and procedures. Develops and maintains ambulatory policies and procedures for the administration of the practice.
- Collaborates with the Practice Managers/Leaders to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and employees, including the development of business continuity plans.
- Assists in the development of leadership vision and strategic plans, as well as executing recommendations and initiatives. Plans, develop, directs and monitors initiatives to improve patient care.
- Provides guidance to the clinical directors and staff members to implement operational/workflow efficiencies to maximize resources during program growth, while maintaining compliance with all regulations and optimizing financial performance. Maintains awareness of current regulatory requirements and ensures policies and procedures are compliant with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Oversee the hiring and performance management of professional staff and support staff. Manages the organization, training, and counseling of staff, regarding job performance, professional growth and knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. In collaboration with the Departments of Medicine and Surgery, organize and execute staffing plans and quality initiatives in support of the IBD program’s hospital operations.
- In collaboration with Director of Education, assists with oversight of educational mission for IBD Center, including grant management, budgeting, funding allocations and communicating with sponsors.
- Responsible for financial oversight of IBD research program, including assisting with new and existing project or grant requests, reviewing, analyzing and submitting funding changes and communication with Department of Medicine, grant sponsors, Finance team and other stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years experience
- Knowledge of computer systems, typing/word processing, database and spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree, previous managerial experience.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $121,792.21 - $174,720.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
