Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Administrative Director - Interventional Services (Brooklyn).

The Administrative Director for Interventional Services will be responsible for all operational aspects of the interventional suites, including organizing, planning, and coordinating resources to provide high-quality patient care in a cost-effective manner in accordance with the NYU Langone mission. This will include Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, Neuro Interventional Radiology and Anesthesiology/Pain Medicine. The Administrative Director will establish cross-departmental relationships with multiple stakeholders throughout the hospital and will report to the Vice President of Hospital Operations and the Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

Job Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence

  • Responsibilities include the daily oversight and management of staff resources, patient schedules, supplies, equipment and environment of care with a focus on efficiency, patient throughput, quality and safety. 
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of operational workflows, policies and procedures, and staff development activities to ensure the efficiency of operations, promote quality of care and the financial stability of operations.
  • Serves as the Interventional Services lead and ensures strong communication between all team members, external stakeholders and senior leadership. 
  • In conjunction with departmental/organizational leadership, establishes and monitors goals, objectives and service standards for Interventional Services
  • Works with other hospital teams and key stakeholders, including Ambulatory Registration, Building Services, Nursing, Medicine, Radiology, Neurology and Anesthesiology to drive efficiency.
  • During emergency situations related to weather, crisis, technical/mechanical issues, environmental issues, surges in patient volume, etc., partners with appropriate leadership to initiate clear communication to patient, attendings and stakeholders.

 

Financial Management

  • Prepares operational and capital budgets. Working with organizational stakeholders including physician leaders, supply chain, nursing and finance, develops strategies for cost containment and maximization of revenues.
  • Collaborates with Sourcing to obtain and optimize specialty contracts and pricing for Interventional programs. Works in collaboration with hospital, division and FGP to optimize specialty contracts. 

 

Staff Management

  • Directly supervises and manages support staff.  Supervises staff in specified assignments. Ensures assignments are understood and institutes appropriate follow up to ensure desired outcomes. 
  • Manages all aspects of staff recruitment, onboarding and training of the advanced practice providers in Interventional Services. 
  • Ensures that all staff are provided with orientation, ongoing education, and dissemination of policies and practical information. 
  • Counsels staff in areas of their performance and oversees disciplinary process as necessary.
  • Works with Labor Relations to ensure all requirements are met for union and non-union staff.

 

Data Analytics

  • Oversees data collection, monitoring, evaluation, and analyzing of patient volume and efficiency metrics and offers recommendations for improving communication, efficiency, quality and safety.
  • Synthesizes complex information in high-quality deliverables for presentation to senior leadership. Serve as resource to determine appropriate data sources to obtain information necessary to achieve department and/or organizational goals. 
  • Effectively communicate concepts and methodologies for purposes of understanding and replication for future projects. 
  • Assists will quality data collection and reporting for cross campus meetings and presentations. 
  • Performs ad hoc quantitative and qualitative analyses (to inform leadership decisions). 

 

Compliance and Policy Development

  • Assures compliance with regulatory agency requirements related to the clinical and research needs of Interventional Services. 
  • Anticipates changes in regulations and develops a plan for compliance and/or performance improvement. 
  • Develops a communication plan for new policies and procedures that impact the department which includes methodologies to facilitate compliance. 
  • Oversees the preparation of externally and internally mandated reports.

 

Special Projects 

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as aligned with the mission and values of the organization.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Masters degree in business administration, health care administration or relevant discipline and 5 years related progressively responsible management and budget administration experience including experience planning and implementing administrative activities and supervising staff, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Excellent organization, interpersonal, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management; ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies and procedures to individuals at all levels (both internal and external customers).
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with EMRs, Tableau, Visio, Access, Decision Support reporting programs and other Internet applications.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

View Know Your Rights: Workplace discrimination is illegal. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $149,195.47 - $200,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
