Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Compensation Analyst.

In this role, the successful candidate Analyzes, evaluates and classifies positions, within the Medical Center, using external/internal data and makes appropriate recommendations to leadership as required. Works directly with department heads/managers/supervisors to develop accurate and detailed job descriptions, and evaluate market value of positions. Responsible for monitoring HR data integrity, and the identification and development of procedures to enhance and expand existing audit programs. Works closely with consumers of HR data to ensure accuracy and completeness of data attributes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a subject-matter expert to departments and HR partners in defining job content, minimum qualifications, critical job factors, and market considerations for existing and proposed positions; applies independent judgment to evaluate and classify roles appropriately.
  • Leads and actively manages compensation-related projects, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and timelines are met; identifies risks, recommends solutions, and escalates issues as needed.
  • Prepares and delivers analytical findings and recommendations through written materials and presentations to diverse audiences, including senior and executive leadership.
  • Participates in external market surveys and ensures accurate, timely, and compliant data submission, applying survey results to internal job evaluations and compensation decisions.
  • Conducts complex market and internal equity analyses using third-party survey data and internal benchmarks to support position classification, pricing, and pay decisions.
  • Documents analyses, decisions, and recommendations in alignment with compensation practices, audit standards, and historical documentation requirements.
  • Administers and implements salary increase programs and market adjustments for union and non-union populations, ensuring alignment with policy, labor agreements, and organizational strategy.
  • Supports the interpretation, application, and communication of compensation policies and practices, providing guidance to HR partners and management.
  • Leads data quality and audit efforts, performing quality assurance reviews, identifying systemic issues, recommending enhancements, and partnering with stakeholders to improve HR data accuracy and governance.
  • Acts as a subject-matter expert for compensation-related data in PeopleSoft HCM; evaluates requested changes, coordinates updates, and conducts post-implementation audits to ensure data integrity.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field

Minimum of three years related experience in a Human Resources related role, which includes performing work of an analytical nature.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel 
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills; strong oral/written/interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, frequently shifting priorities; ability to work in a fast-paced, with strong adherence to meeting deadlines
  • Ability to handle matters of a highly confidential nature; perceptive; anticipates, detailed oriented, accurate, and organized
  • Ability to understand the broader perspective and connectedness of HR processes and procedures

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York State pay transparency law. The salary range for the role is $90,000 to $100,000 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
