Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst - Asset Management.
In this role, the successful candidate as the Asset Management Analyst reports to the Assistant Director, Capital Accounting Department, [DN1.1]and is responsible for supporting the management, tracking, and optimization of the organizations capital assets. This role provides analytical and operational support for asset lifecycle processes, including acquisition, valuation, depreciation, maintenance planning, and disposal. The analyst works closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Facilities teams to ensure the accuracy of asset records and to support strategic decision-making around capital investments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the fixed asset subledger, ensuring accuracy of capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports related to asset performance, capital spending, and asset utilization.
- Assist with capital project tracking, including budget performance, project closeouts, and reconciliation with the general ledger.
- Monitor asset lifecycles and support forecasting for replacement, upgrades, and maintenance needs.
- Conduct variance analysis on capital expenditures and prepare supporting schedules for management review.
- Perform asset tagging and labeling for new and existing equipment, ensuring adherence to organizational standards.
- Conduct physical asset inventories, including locating, identifying, and verifying assets throughout facilities or assigned locations.
- Collaborate with procurement, facilities, IT, clinical engineering, and finance teams to ensure timely tagging of newly acquired assets.
- Collaborate with internal departments to validate asset data and ensure compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS, if applicable).
- Support the development and implementation of asset management policies, tools, and process improvements.
- Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external auditors.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and modeling to support strategic asset planning and capital allocation decisions.
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
3 years of experience in asset management, financial analysis, or accounting preferred.
Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting principles and capital project management.
Ability to work independently and travel to various locations as required.
Proficient with Excel and handheld scanning/tagging devices.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Tableau, Data Bricks,) a plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication skills with strong diligence.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and minimum 3 years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination.Superior communication skills, both written and verbalPossess strong customer service and problem solving skill setsKnowledgeable of accrual basis of accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare, or large capital-intensive environment.
Familiarity with asset management software and data visualization tools (PeopleSoft Asset Management Module, Tableau).
Knowledge of asset lifecycle optimization and capital budgeting methodologies.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66,299.99 - $73,500.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
