Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator. 

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Coordinator to support a new, multi-institutional project aimed at improving the recognition and management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) through the development and implementation of electronic tools across three health systems. The goal of this project will be to identifying care gaps and develop practice-based solutions to prevent heart disease, stroke, and dialysis for these patients. The coordinator will play a central role in project management, tool development, and integration into clinical care, as well as in conducting qualitative research and workflow analyses to identify opportunities for improvement in CKD care. In addition, the Research Coordinator will contribute to related projects focused on enhancing the quality and safety of healthcare delivery, including initiatives to identify gaps in diabetes care, understand factors influencing medication nonadherence in heart failure, and develop and implement interventions to improve cardiovascular disease management. The Research Coordinator will report to Saul Blecker, MD, MHS, faculty member in the Division of Healthcare Delivery Science in the Department of Population Health, and will work closely with collaborators Drs. Amrita Mukhopadhyay and Samrachana Adhikari, as well as other faculty in the Department of Population Health and externally.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the projects.
  • Organize meetings and facilitate communication of the research team. Prepare agenda and minutes for team meetings.
  • Project management, timeline development, and tracking task completion.
  • Assist with the preparation of grant applications and other grants related activities. 
  • Assist with preparation of progress reports to funding agencies and presentations to sponsoring and regulatory agencies and reports to all necessary parties (e.g., the principal investigator, sponsoring agency, etc.) on the progress of the study as needed. 
  • Compile and consolidate data and conduct preliminary analyses for presentation to sponsoring agencies and scientific community. 
  • Perform data collection and qualitative analysis and interpretation of results for projects. 
  • Perform detailed electronic health record (EHR) chart review to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Conduct literature searches and reviews on topics relevant to research projects.
  • Assist with the preparation, writing, editing, formatting and submission of manuscripts and other materials for dissemination.
  • Responsible for coordinating, submitting, tracking, and updating human-subjects research protocol submissions to Institutional Review Board (IRB) at NYU.
  • Prepare presentations for lectures or posters for conferences.
  • Interfaces with varied persons, including School of Medicine collaborators, Medical Center staff (e.g. physicians, nurses, practice leadership) and partners at other institutions.

 

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Familiarity with health services and population health research.
Bonus: experience with EHR clinical data, chart review, and/or qualitative research.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in life sciences, allied health or equivalent in a related discipline and 0-1 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Must be able to work under the direction of supervision. Ability to operate research related equipment. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred. Prior experience working with Research Protocols. Experience working in an academic medical center environment

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,350.00 - $64,350.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
